For the 6th Annual National Meet / 5th Annual Woodies at Mystic Seaport, Connecticut was the place to be Event Coordinator Bill Lyman writes
The 6th Annual National Woodie Club Meet was held in July in conjunction with the 5th Annual Woodies at the Seaport Meet in Mystic, Conn. The unpredictable New England weather cooperated for most of the weekend, and was great for show day when 55 woodies displayed on the green at Mystic Seaport Museum.
Participants came from 18 states, woodies came from 13 states, and three woodies were transported to Mystic from as far away as Georgia, North Dakota and California. Greg and Shelly Chandler drove their woodie back across the country to their California home. The long-distance award for driving a woodie to Mystic went to Morgan Harris, who drove his 1929 Ford Repro 480 miles from Sandston, Va.
